Being a Scout
Scouts is the fourth Section in Scouting, for children aged 10½-14. As a Scout, you’ll get the chance to try a range of exciting activities and go on new adventures. Here’s everything you need to know.
What do Scouts do?
Boost your confidence, embrace your sense of adventure, and strengthen your outdoor skills. Reflect on your beliefs and attitudes while expressing your creativity. Grow your independence and put everything you’ve learned into action at camps—and even on international adventures.
Earning Awards
By taking part in activities Scouts will earn badges that they can proudly wear on their uniform. Completing all the challenge badges will earn Scouts the Chief Scout’s Gold Award.
Scouts Promise
As a values based movement we all make the ‘The Promise’ an oath that helps us to be our best.
Uniform and badge placement
After you join Scouts you will wear a uniform that lets you display all of your badges. Learn about our uniform and where to put your badges below.
Moving on to Explorers
Eventually, it will be time to say goodbye to Scouts and move onwards to Explorers.
Scouts Leaders
All our leaders are trained volunteers who give their time to help run weekly sessions and extra activities. Interested in learning how you can support your local Scout Troop? Click the link below to explore the range of ways that you can support Scouting.
